On my hook

In my World of Crochet.

Earthen Lace Scarf.

My first finished object of the year!!!

I made this little scarf up using a ripple stitch with a few little changes. I wrote up the pattern and posted it here if your interested.

I used Lion Jiffy on this and it really works up quick.

Tennessee Icicles an 8 Inch square.

I was fooling around with some yarn trying to use up some odds and ends and came up with this pattern so I wrote it down. I’m still just learning the easiest way to write up a pattern so any input would be gladly accepted. 🙂 Thanks to the ladies on Crochetville that helped me come up with a name for it.

This pattern has not been tested. Please let me know if you find any problems with it.

Tennessee Icicles.

Check out my pattern blog My Crochet Ramblings for the pattern. I’m trying to get them all in one place so it’s easier to find them.

8 Inch 9 patch granny square.

                                     9 Patch square.

Pattern for my 8 inch 9 Patch square.

(Somebody asked me if there was a pattern for this block and I haven’t seen one online so I thought I’d write the way I made it here.)

I used Caron SS and a H hook on this one and it makes a 2″ square motif. Any yarn or hook can be used, size will vary but this can be made any size you want.

With your choice of colors make 9

2″ squares motifs

Rd 1: ch 4 sl st in first ch to make a ring.

Rd 2: ch 3, (2 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) *ch 1 (3dc, ch 1, 3 dc)* repeat * to * 2 more times in ring. (12 dc)

Rd 3: ch 3, turn, 2dc in same sp. (ch 1,3dc, ch 1, 3 dc) twice, ch 1, 3 dc, hdc into 3rd ch of beggining chain. Fasten off.

Whipstitch or sc the 9 squares together in 3 rows of 3 in any color combination you want to use.

Dc around (2dc, ch1, 2dc) in corners. Join in 3rd ch, Fasten off and weave in ends.

sc, hdc or trc can be used in the last round to get desired size.

R5) Ch 3 turn, 3 DC in same st, (4 DC, ch 2, 4 DC, ch 3) in next 2 ch 3 sps, 4 Dc in last st fasten off
R6) Join new color in the last st, ch 2, hdc, dc in dc’s, (2 dc, trc in ch 1 on prev round, 2 dc) in ch 2 sp, dc, hdc, hdc in next 3 sts (sc, ch 1, sc) in corner, * hdc, hdc, dc to ch 2 sp, (2 DC, Trc, 2 Dc) in ch sp, Dc, hdc, hdc to corner, (sc, ch 1, sc) in corner* repeat from * to * 1 more time.
R7) ch 3 turn, dc in each dc, (dc, ch 3, dc) in corner around
R8) Ch1 turn, sc in each dc, 3 sc in corner around fasten off.

This is my addaption of the snowflake hex block to make it a half block to fill in the gaps in the sides since the original pattern didn’t have one. I didn’t like it with the gaps so I filled the spaces with this half hex. The pattern is here for the snowflake afghan.
